Howard HBCU Women’s Basketball Is Building National Momentum

Howard University women’s basketball continues to elevate its national profile after capturing the 2026 MEAC Championship and earning another NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Ty Grace.

The Bison finished the season 26-7 heading into the NCAA Tournament and made program history as both Howard’s men’s and women’s basketball teams captured MEAC titles in the same season.

Howard also earned a No. 14 seed in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament — the highest NCAA Tournament seed in program history for the women’s basketball program.

With rising national attention surrounding women’s sports, NIL opportunities, and HBCU athletics, Howard continues proving it belongs in the national spotlight.
